Verizon Business has been involved in the Internet2 advanced networking consortium since the network’s conception in 1996, but this week has strengthened its commitment by becoming a corporate member (annual dues for a company Verizon’s size according to the membership FAQ: $30K).

“Internet2 relies on its corporate members like Verizon Business to play a

key role in transferring technology developed within the Internet2 community

into the commercial marketplace,” said Ellen Vaughan, Internet2 program

manager for member and partner relations.
