Wal-Mart has announced that they are selling the Everex TC2502 Green gPC online and in select stores. Their web page includes a link (enable javascript) to find those stores (none within a hundred miles of me). Everex is using a mini-ITX mobo and embedded processor in a full-sized case because Wal-Mart’s research shows the consumer equates power and performance with size (I didn’t think size mattered).

gOS is Ubuntu with the Enlightenment GUI. Everex claims the box’s performance equals Vista on much more expensive hardware. The initial batch of 10,000 looks like a test run — support issues primarily.
