Get Slingbox on your Blackberry

Good news for Blackberry owners that have a Slingbox connected to their TVs: Sling Media will unveil its SlingPlayer Mobile for Blackberry at next week’s CES show in Las Vegas. For $29.95, you’ll be able to watch TV from wherever you can get a strong enough signal on your Blackberry. The mobile player for Blackberry will be available later this year. Sling already makes players for Windows Mobile, Palm OS, and Symbian clients. Also, Sling will be releasing its Slingbox PRO-HD device in Q3’08, meaning customers that buy the $400 box will be able to stream 1080i and 5.1 Dolby Surround content to their laptops and mobile devices. I am huge fan of Sling and have the Slingbox AV at home (very handy for those weekday afternoon Red Sox games). There’s been a lot of competitors trying to knock the company down, so it’s good to see them continue to innovate and stay ahead of the curve.
