Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that Promise makes a number of inexpensive ATA & Serial RAID solutions. They are hot swappable, support a number of RAID levels – 0, 1, 5, including the hybrids, and have enclosures that fit into a server or are stand-alone. They also have internal solutions as well. I have several of their products in production now and they work very well while keeping cost down.
