Linux Goes to College

The Linux desktop distribution from Xandros has taken a page out of Unix history and started seeding their operating system in college. They’ve made a deal with Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia to partner with Dell to provide 9,000 Linux-powered laptops over the next three years. Read the press release here.

I’ve installed Xandros a couple of times and the installation goes quickly and the system works well. If they keep making news like this, I”ll have to review their new software soon.
