A University of Washington physicist says he suspects there may be a way to document a splitting photon moving backward in time. No kidding. I read every word of the story — and understood about half — despite the fact that doing so gave me a splitting headache.
There is, of course, a network angle: “If the UW experiment succeeds at demonstrating faster-than-light communication and reverse causation, the implications are enormous. Besides altering our concept of time, the signaling finding alone would almost certainly revolutionize communication technologies.”
