A simple fact everyone ought to know
In recent months on this blog we’ve had great fun discovering such important facts as where our surnames and first names rank among all others (1,220 and 130, respectively, for me). Everyone likes to know where he or she stands in life.

In my case, Oct. 31, 1957, that would mean Elvis Presley’s “Jailhouse Rock,” which unless I’m mistaken was popular music’s first gay-pride anthem. (C’mon, it’s not exactly in code … not that there’s anything wrong with it):

Or are you telling me they had co-ed prisons in 1957?
Anyway, “Jailhouse Rock” rocks compared with the No. 1 song fate delivered to my Network World colleague Phil Hochmuth: Paul Anka’s “(You’re) Having My Baby.”
