MIT Lincoln Laboratory, the Naval Research Laboratory and network company Ciena are joining forces to upgrade the Boston South Network (BoSSNET), a test bed for researching high-speed and long-distance networks. BoSSNET, which runs from Boston to Washington, D.C., is set to be upgraded to support 40Gbps, then 100Gbps. Here’s a press release issued regarding the effort.
