Researchers are trying to come up with guidelines for using biometric hardware and software that could result in more efficient use and better results. This research by NIST is getting pretty basic, actually, such as trying to figure out the best height for a work surface used for a fingerprint sensor. If you’re wondering, a 36-inch high surface produced fastest results and 26-inches high resulted in the best image quality. More here.
