Microsoft to make 30 little companies rich by year end

Don Dodge of Microsoft’s Emerging Business Team blogs that Microsoft wants to buy up another 20 to 30 companies this year to add to the 21 acquisitions it made last year. Writing about the company’s VC Summit last week, Dodge explains why Microsoft’s purchases rarely bust the $50 million range, but fails to specify the 13 important growth areas for Microsoft that Steve Ballmer detailed to the VC Summit attendees.
