Discreet announced it has begun shipping Character Studio 4 for creating animated characters in a film. New features, according to the company, include Dynamics-based Mixing, Constraint-based Mixdowns, and intuitive Quaternion Function Curves – all having to do with making an animated character’s movements more life-like. Available for Windows 2000 and 98 (it will also work with XP, but hasn’t been tested), Character Studio 4 is priced at $995.
