Are you a fan of Sonic Foundry’s Vegas, Acid and Sound Forge desktop multimedia editing products? Well, turn your affections to Sony Pictures Digital, because the media giant ponied up $18 million in cash (as well as taking on some other other assets) last week for the three product lines. Sonic Foundry will use the money to focus on and develop its Media Site live product. No word on what Sony will do with the product line. I like Sound Forge and hope they make it better. Same with Vegas, which seems to be developing quite a following in the video editing world.
