Equant announced today that it is now offering a fixed-fee IP video service that will run over the company’s private MPLS-based IP network, which it says reaches 85 countries. Equant says it will be able to deliver video calls at rates higher the 2M bit/sec, which is better than TV quality in most cases. The company is using gear from Polycom, Cisco and Genesys Conferencing to power the video portion of its video network. Equant customers can use a portal to book and launch multipoint video calls as well as run usage reports.
