Optibase is now offering a streaming server designed for the security service market looking to use IP video in their surveillance operations. The new MGW 2000e can capture video from multiple sources, encode it into MPEG 1 or 2, and stream it out to a TV or PC monitor on the network. Optibase claims a latency of about 250 milliseconds for live video. Optibase says the MGW 2000e is ready for shipment, but did not disclose any pricing figures in its announcement.
