At CeBIT America today, HP announced it will begin offering customized Media Center PCs, with prices starting at $999. Previously, HP only offered a couple versions of its Media Center PC, an HP system equipped with Windows XP Media Center Edition and various multimedia peripherals. Starting July 9, customers will be able to order customized versions of the HP Media Center PC m200, which comes standard with a 2.4-gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 processor; 512-megabytes DDR memory; an 80-gigabyte hard drive; and an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440 AGP 8x graphics card. Other options include more memory, faster processors and a bevy of drive, speaker and sound card options.
