Ever used Amtrak’s automated phone system to check on a train status or make a reservation? That perky voice that guides your way is known as “Julie”, named after the human that gives voice to the automated voice response system. In April of this year, Julie received more “training” from her developer – SpeechWorks of Boston. The newest version of Julie not only can reserve a trip for you on the rails, but also accept a credit card to pay for the trip. Read all about it here.
