Software maker Inetcam has come out with a new product designed to help push streaming to the masses using multicast technology. Its new iMirror package works with its original iVista encoding/streaming engine to help replicate live and on-demand streams to the masses. The iMirror server helps remove some of the computing burden from the central iVista server, according to a release from Inetcam. Both products can be used for wireless or Internet streaming. No word on if the company used true IP Multicast or pseudo-multicast approach. True IP Multicast requires that every router in the path between server and client be multicast enabled.
