One interesting stat that came out of this morning’s keynote is the marketshare of the two leaders in videoconferencing (Polycom and Tandberg). In 2000, the two leaders accounted for 70% of the marketshare. Today, they account for 83% of the market. Andrew Davis thinks there will be three vendors sharing the majority of the videoconferencing pie and it will be a good thing for users.
There will be a high level of interoperability because all three vendors will have significant share and will make sure their features and functions will interoperate with the others.
