One of the (sort of) drawbacks to Windows Media is that its only available for Windows (granted, a LOT of people run Windows). Starbak is helping to overcome that drawback with version 3.0 of its Embedded Streaming suite that it OEMs to vendors, allowing them to use Windows Media streaming inside their Linux-based applications. According to Starbak, the 3.0 offering includes Linux binary code, reference hardware, prepaid royalties, support services and testing tools.
