Tandberg made a nice pickup today, acquiring Ridgeway Systems for $16 million plus other considerations. Ridgeway makes equipment to help pass videoconference calls through firewalls and NAT setups, a big problem in the video world. Tandberg says it will be integrating Ridgeway’s IPFreedom technology in its endpoints, which hopefully will make point-to-point calling a little easier. But, you’ll have to wait until Q1 2005 to reap the benefits. Tandberg says Ridgeway’s six engineers will be kept on board.
