Macromedia made a couple of announcements this week, one regarding Breeze pricing, the other a new hosting deal for Flash video. On the pricing issue, Macromedia is now offering Breeze Live on a pay-as-you go basis. Previously, you had to have a contract with Macromedia to use the service. Now you can pay on a per-minute basis, starting at about 32 cents a minute per user. Macromedia’s new pricing structure is similar to those offered by the competition (i.e. WebEx and Office Live Meeting). The other piece of news is Speedera is now working with Macromedia to offer both live and on-demand streaming service for Flash video. Customers can get the service for a $2,500 one-time integration fee plus the standard storage and delivery charges. Macromedia also works with VitalStream to offer Flash streaming services.
