A little off topic, but something worth mentioning. I was listening to Adam Curry’s Daily Source Code for April 16, the one where he recorded from Central Park in New York City. Part way through the show, he decided to switch benches to get situate himself back in the sun. As he was doing so, he noticed the benches had dedication plaques on them. He thought it would be interesting to read them as he moved down the pathway to the sunnier bench. The first one he read was dedicated to someone born in 1978 and he said something along the lines of “Wow, they died young…” Then he realized the date the person died: September 11, 2001. You could tell Adam was caught off guard, as was I listening. 9/11 is always in the back of our minds, but gets deeper in as each new day passes. But every once in a while, something suddenly reminds you of that fateful and tragic day. It makes you appreciate the beautiful days like we have here in New England today a little bit more.
Sudden reminders…
