The first issue of Make: magazine published by O’Reilly Media just came out and what a gas! Imagine if you crossed Scientific American’s old Amateur Scientist column with Nuts and Volts and a splash of Wired … Make: is what you’d get. Outstanding! We’re going to subscribe …

Published quarterly, Make: is all about constructing techie stuff and tinkering. Nicely produced and with this issue weighing in at 192 pages, Make: is a good read.

Check out the current issue: A $30 Gauss rifle (p.12), Feral robot dogs (p.22, related site), how to construct a 5-in-1 Network Cable (p.96), and how to build a magstripe reader for under $40 (p.106) are just some of the more entertaining items in this issue.

Highly recommended.
