SIM Connect Live will be held in spring, renew focus on actual SIM members

The Society for Information Management has announced that is reworking its annual SIMposium conference, which took place last month in Connecticut, and will come back in the spring of 2018 with an event dubbed SIM Connect Live.
This year’s event attracted just under 800 CIOs and other IT decision makers and business strategists to exchange thoughts on everything from leadership to risk management to the workforce of the future (See also: “CIO Security Lessons — Dark thinking on IoT & exploding enterprise networks”).
Why mess with a successful event that SIM has been hosting for almost 50 years? For one thing, members wanted to change the time of year for the gathering. But also, they wanted to better focus the event on SIM members and selected guests, not the IT community at large, as has been the case. So the focus of SIM Connect Live will be on leaders and emerging leaders in their organizations, those who are active in their communities, as well those dedicated innovation, continuous learning and collaboration.
