Joan Wrabetz is vice president of product strategy at Western Digital Corporation. She is an engineer by training, and has been a CEO, CTO, venture capitalist and educator in the computing, networking, storage systems and big data analysis industries by trade.
Joan is an experienced CEO and serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of executive management experience at both public and privately held technology companies. Joan has started and run two software companies, she has been the CEO of a small public company and the VP/GM and VP/CTO for several large public technology companies.
Joan has also been a Venture Partner with a venture capital firm, have been an advisor and consultant to numerous storage and networking companies, and currently sit on the board of directors of several technology companies.
Joan is an engineer by training. Joan has patents in the area of grid computing and analytics on big data. She has been working on computing, networking, storage systems, and software for storing, processing and analyzing big data for most of her career.
She has been an adjunct faculty member at several universities where she taught business, entrepreneurship and technology commercialization to undergraduates, MBA students and PhD students in engineering and the sciences.
