ThousandEyes, a firm that monitors network infrastructure, measures the UK internet for Network World UK each week, covering Monday at 12:01 UTC through Sunday at 23:59 UTC.

Here's the latest data.

Week of 10-16 August 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISP) remained the largest number observed this year, staying at 23. Globally, they declined 26.9 per cent from 227 to 166.

Cloud providers. In the UK 1 cloud outages was observed this week, up from 0 the prior week. Globally, the number fell 6.7 per cent from 30 to 28.

Collaboration apps. There were again 0 UK collaboration network-provider outages observed, and globally there were also 0.

Week of 3-9 August 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISP) were the largest number observed this year, rising from 10 to 23. Globally they rose from 181 to 227.

Cloud providers. In the UK no cloud outages were observed this week, the first time since late June. Globally the number increased from 18 to 30.

Collaboration apps. There were no UK collaboration network-provider outages observed, down from one last week, and globally there were also none.

Week of 27 July-2 August 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) remained at 10 outages for the second consecutive week. Global ISP outages decreased marginally this week, dropping from 183 to 181.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers outages rose from 1 to 3. Global cloud provider outages decreased by 38 per cent when compared to the week prior, dropping from 29 to 18.

Collaboration apps. There was 1 outage in UK collaboration app provider networks, up from 0 the prior week. Globally, collaboration app network provider outages decreased from 3 to 1, a drop of 66 per cent when compared to the week prior.

Week of 20-26 July 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) rose 42.9 per cent compared to the previous week, with 10 in the UK versus 7 the prior week. Global ISP outages rose 4.6 per cent over the same period, from 175 to 183.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers experienced 1 outage, the same as the prior two weeks. Global outages nearly doubled, from 15 to 29 over the prior week.

Collaboration apps. There were 0 outages in UK collaboration app provider networks, down from 1 the prior week. There were 3 global outages in the same period, up from 1 the prior week.

Week of 13-19 July 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) rose 40 per cent compared to the previous week, with 7 in the UK versus 5 the prior week. Global ISP outages fell 22.9 per cent over the same period, from 215 to 175.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers experienced 1 outage, the same as the prior week. Global outages dropped 58.3 per cent, from 26 to 15 over the same period.

Collaboration apps. There was 1 outage in UK collaboration app provider networks, down from 4 the prior six weeks. There was 1 global outage — those same UK ones — in the same period, also down from 4 the prior week.

Week of 6-12 July 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) rose 25 per cent compared to the previous week, with 5 in the UK versus 4 the prior week. Global ISP outages rose 41.4 per cent over the same period, from 152 to 215.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers experienced 1 outage, up from 0 the prior week. Global outages rose 44 per cent, from 25 to 36 over the same period.

Collaboration apps. There were 4 outages in UK collaboration app provider networks, up from 0 the prior six weeks. There were 4 global outages in the same period, up 100 per cent from 2 the prior week.

Week of 29 June-5 July 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) fell 63.6 per cent compared to the previous week, with 4 in the UK versus 11 the prior week. Global ISP outages fell 7.5 per cent over the same period, from 160 to 152.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers experienced 0 outages, down from 3 the prior week. Global outages fell 10.7 per cent, from 28 to 25 over the same period.

Collaboration apps. There were 0 outages in UK collaboration app provider networks, the same as the prior five weeks. There were 2 global outages in the same period, up from 0 the prior week.

Week of 22 June-28 June 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) fell 21.4 per cent compared to the previous week, with 11 in the UK versus 14 the prior week. Global ISP outages fell 25.9 per cent over the same period, from 216 to 160.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers experienced 3 outages, up from 1 the prior week. Global outages fell 39.1 per cent, from 46 to 28 over the same period.

Collaboration apps. There were 0 outages in UK collaboration app provider networks, the same as the prior four weeks. There were also 0 global outages in the same period, the same as the prior week.

Week of 15 June-21 June 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) fell 12.5 per cent compared to the previous week, with 14 in the UK versus 16 the prior week. Global ISP outages fell 2.3 per cent over the same period, from 221 to 216.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers experienced 1 outage, up from 0 the prior week. Global outages jumped 130 per cent, from 20 to 46 over the same period.

Collaboration apps. There were 0 outage in UK collaboration app provider networks, the same as the prior three weeks. Global outages dropped in the same period, from 4 to 0.

Week of 8 June-14 June 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) rose 11.1 per cent compared to the previous week, with 16 in the UK versus 18 the prior week. Global ISP outages rose 31.5 per cent over the same period, from 168 to 221.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers experienced 0 outages, down from 1 the prior week. Global outages fell 13 per cent, from 23 to 20 over the same period.

Collaboration apps. There were 0 outage in UK collaboration app provider networks, the same as the prior two weeks. Global outages rose 400 per cent in the same period, from 1 to 4.

Week of 1 June-7 June 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) rose 20 per cent compared to the previous week, with 18 in the UK versus 15 the prior week. Global ISP outages fell 14.3 per cent over the same period, from 196 to 168.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers experienced 1 outages, up from 0 the prior week. Global outages fell 11.5 per cent, from 26 to 23 over the same period.

Collaboration apps. There were 0 outage in UK collaboration app provider networks, the same as the prior week. Global outages dropped 85.7 per cent in the same period, from 7 to 1.

Week of 25 May-31 May 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) nearly doubled compared to the previous week, with 15 in the UK versus 8 the prior week. Global ISP outages fell 12.9 per cent over the same period, from 225 to 196.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers experienced 0 outages, down from 2 the prior week. Global outages fell 25.7 per cent, from 35 to 26 over the same period.

Collaboration apps. There were 0 outages in UK collaboration app provider networks, down from 1 the prior four weeks. Global outages nearly doubled in the same period, from 4 to 7.

Week of 18 May-24 May 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) fell 27.2 per cent compared to the previous week, with 8 in the UK versus 11 the prior week. Global ISP outages rose rose 0.9 per cent over the same period, from 223 to 225.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers experienced 2 outages, up from 1 the prior week. Global outages rose 45.8 per cent, from 24 to 35 over the same period.

Collaboration apps. There was 1 outage in UK collaboration app provider networks, up from 0 the prior four weeks. Global outages fell 20 per cent in the same period, from 5 to 4.

Week of 11 May-17 May 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) fell 36.4 per cent compared to the previous week, with 11 in the UK versus 15 the prior week. Global ISP outages rose fell 21.9 per cent over the same period, from 183 to 223.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers experienced 1 outages, up from 0 the prior week. Global outages nearly doubled, from 13 to 24 over the same period.

Collaboration apps. There were 0 outages in UK collaboration app provider networks, the same as the prior three weeks. Global outages fell 16.7 per cent in the same period, from 6 to 5.

Week of 4 May-10 May 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) rose 36.4 per cent compared to the previous week, with 15 in the UK versus 11 the prior week. Global ISP outages fell fell 29 per cent over the same period, from 236 to 183.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers experienced 0 outages, the same as the prior week. Global outages rose 8.3 per cent, from 12 to 13 over the same period.

Collaboration apps. There were 0 outages in UK collaboration app provider networks, the same as the prior week. Global outages fell 14.3 per cent in the same period, from 7 to 6.

Week of 27 April-3 May 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) fell 15.4 per cent compared to the previous week, with 11 in the UK versus 13 the prior week. Global ISP outages fell slightly: down 5.6 per cent over the same period, from 250 to 236.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers experienced 0 outages, down 100 per cent from 2 the prior week. Global outages decreased 53.8 per cent, from 26 to 12 over the same period.

Collaboration apps. There were 0 outages in UK collaboration app provider networks, the same as the prior week. Global outages fell 50 per cent in the same period, from 14 to 7.

Week of 20 April-26 April 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) rose 62.5 per cent compared to the previous week, with 13 in the UK versus 8 the prior week. Global ISP outages rose only slightly: up 3.3 per cent over the same period, from 243 to 250.

Cloud providers. UK cloud providers experienced 2 outages, up 100 per cent from 1 the prior week. Global outages increased similary, up 85.7 per cent from 14 to 26 over the same period.

Collaboration apps. There were 0 outages in UK collaboration app provider networks, versus 3 the prior week. Global outages rose 27.3 per cent in the same period, from 11 to 14.

Week of 13 April-19 April 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) rose 33 per cent compared to the previous week, with 8 in the UK versus 6 the prior week. Global ISP outages rose even more: up 66 per cent over the same period, to 243.

Cloud providers. Only 1 outage occurred at UK cloud providers, down 67 per cent from 3 the prior week. Global outages also fell to 14, down by 26.3 per cent in the same period.

Collaboration apps. There were 3 outages in UK collaboration app provider networks, versus 0 the prior week. Global outages rose 22.2 per cent in the same period, to 11.

Week of 6 April-12 April 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) declined 70 per cent compared to the previous week, with 6 in the UK versus 20 the prior week. By contrast, global ISP outages fell 38.4 per cent over the same period, to 141.

Cloud providers. Three outages occurred at UK cloud providers, the same number as for the prior week. By contrast, global outages fell 24 per cent in the same period, to 19.

Collaboration apps. There were no outages in UK collaboration app provider networks, versus a 100 per cent drop from 2 the prior week. Global outages fell 69 per cent in the same period, to 9.

Week of 30 March-5 April 2020

ISPs. Outages at UK internet service providers (ISPs) rose 80 per cent compared to the previous week, with 20 in the UK versus 11 the prior week. By contrast, global ISP outages fell 9.1 per cent over the same period, to 229.

Cloud providers. Three outages occurred at UK cloud providers, versus two the prior week, an increase of 50 per cent. By contrast, global outages rose 13.5 per cent in the same period, to 25.

Collaboration apps. Outages in UK collaboration app provider networks held steady at two last week, the same as the prior week. By contrast, global outages rose 260 per cent in the same period, to 29.
