Integration, automation and improved dashboard views on the way
As IT executive Henry Mayorga pointed out in the last newsletter, Netuitive “has the right idea” when it comes to addressing IT performance management needs in a highly virtualized, even cloud computing-oriented, world.
With its analytics-based, self-learning approach to performance management, Netuitive offers “one of the few products that allows you some chance of understanding the normality of the performance of a very complex system,” said Mayorga, who is director of network topology at Baron Capital, a New York investment firm.
And as Mayorga suggests the company needs to do, Netuitive is working hard to make its tool even more valuable. In late January, for example, it previewed plans for a predictive analytics platform it says will be capable of providing end-to-end analysis of performance and capacity management in the cloud.
Toward that end, Netuitive is developing a number of new capabilities for its performance management platform. These include Integration Studio and Trusted Triggers, due out in the fourth and third quarters, respectively, says Dan Heimlich, vice president of marketing for Netuitive.
A set of tools, a software development kit and an open application programming interface, Integration Studio that will let IT input real-time performance and capacity data from any system or application. “Our tools look at data in an agnostic way, with no preconceived assumptions. So customers can use this in completely different ways,” Heimlich says.
For example, a travel site might use Integration Studio to feed data from its reservation system into Netuitive so that data can be correlated with infrastructure monitoring. Other companies might want to run correlations between physical monitoring — temperature, for example — and performance.
Trusted Triggers will provide an intelligence engine for the self-healing, self-learning and automatic rightsizing that will be taking place in cloud computing environments, Heimlich says.
In addition, Netuitive is working on dashboard enhancements that will provide more real-time, multitier visibility into infrastructure performance, he says. Those will be coming in the second quarter.
