Open source, net neutrality are initial focus areas
Vinton Cerf, one of the fathers of the Internet and currently chief Internet evangelist at Google, helped kick off a permanent gallery called Life Online at the National Media Museum in Bradford, U.K. The gallery, which opens today, is “dedicated to exploring the social, technological and cultural impact of the internet. This permanent gallery will trace the history of the internet, uncover how it has changed people’s lives and track the latest trends.” Initial focus areas include open source and net neutraility.
Cerf says during an interview with the gallery’s curator that “We made some very concious decisions about the design of the network in anticipation that things would happen in the future that we couldnt predict but we knew what their nature would be.”
