The momentum behind 802.11ac is building. But how will it impact the enterprise, and when? A new Webinar has the answers.
The level of activity around the upcoming IEEE 802.11ac standard is really heating up. While I don’t expect to see a lot of enterprise-class .11ac products before the middle of next year, it’s now an opportune time to begin the planning process for a transition from (or coexistence with) 802.11n. So I’m very pleased to have the opportunity to participate in an upcoming Webinar – 21 August at 1:00 PM eastern time – on this very important subject. This event is sponsored by Aruba Networks, and features their own Head of Standards Strategy, Dorothy Stanley, who’s one of the best-known experts on wireless LAN standards. While the range of topics that we’ll cover is quite broad, Dorothy will focus on the technology and the state of the standard, and I’ll offer an analyst’s view on what 802.11ac will mean to the enterprise, and equally importantly, when.
