It’s probably time for a general update on the policies involved in writing this blog.
endif; ?>It’s been quite a while since I published the general policies and procedures relevant to what I post here. And, as the Federal Trade Commission and other organizations want everything to be out-front, in the clear, above boards, in the open, and etc., here you go. This is mostly from our Policies and Fees document, which we provide to clients.
- Farpoint Group is an advisory firm that specializes in wireless and mobile networking, systems, communications, computing, technologies, products, and services.
- I am the sole owner of Farpoint Group.
- We work with technology developers, product and service vendors, carriers and operators, the financial community, and end-users in the form of enterprises, governments, and similar organizations.
- We provide technology analysis, strategy development, product specification and design, product marketing, and education services.
- We do not sell products, except those resold as part of specialized, custom system-integration projects. We are not a dealer, distributor, or retailer.
- We have no exclusive relationships, long-term contracts, retainer-based agreements, commission-based contracts, or similar agreements in place with with anyone.
- We work on a project basis – set goals, accomplish them, and we’re done.
- We own no equity in any firm in the wireless or mobile space, except perhaps through mutual funds or managed accounts over which we have no direct control.
- Anything published under our label or brand represents our sole and exclusive opinion, and we stand by it.
- We do not publish our client list.
- We do not publish comparative tests of enterprise-class products without the involvement of all parties concerned. We will do testing of this form under the auspices of a reputable third party, for example, Network World.
- We do accept products for evaluation, and frequently publish single-product reviews here and elsewhere. Any products or services used in production at Farpoint Group, however, are purchased by us.
- We are happy to provide, subject to availability and interest, analyst briefings and appropriate quotations for press releases, both free of charge.
- This blog is under our sole and exclusive editorial control, and we are not compensated for its production.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
