In addition to Apple's live webcast, Apple watching websites will provide blow-by-blow commentary

All eyes and ears in the tech world Tuesday will be on Apple’s unveiling of what’s expected to be the iPad Mini or iPad Air, a tablet with a 7.85-inch screen that will serve as Apple’s answer to smaller-than-traditional tablets from Google, Amazon and others.

Apple has teased the Oct. 23 event with an invite (pictured) in which it wrote, “We’ve got a little more to show you.”

In a twist, Apple is even offering a live webcast of the event to those of us with Apple devices and willing to submit to Safari.

While we won’t be at the event in San Jose, and know many of you won’t be either, our IDG colleagues from MacWorld and IDG News Service will be (IDG News Service will be taking video, which we’ll post during the day). The event is slated to begin at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET.
