Apple executive Eddy Cue has slowly but steadily risen through the ranks at Apple where he now serves as the company's Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services. And now Cue has another feather to add to his already brimming cap - board member at Ferrari.
Apple executive Eddy Cue has slowly but steadily risen through the ranks at Apple. While many Apple fans likely first became aware of Cue once he took over the failed MobileMe initiative, Cue entered the mainstream realm following the resignation of Steve Jobs when he was promoted to Apple’s Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services.
More recently, Cue was also given the task of managing Apple’s Maps app and Siri following the unceremonious departure of Scott Forstall. Clearly a respected figure within Apple, Cue is widely regarded as a key Apple negotiator who played important roles in Apple’s early iPhone negotiations with AT&T as well as Apple’s contracts with various record labels.
And now Cue has another feather to add to his already brimming cap – board member at Ferrari.
As it turns out, Cue is quite the Ferrari fan and was recently asked to become a member of the board of directors at the Italian-based sports car manufacturer.
“I am pleased and proud to become a member of the board,” said Cue in a press release. “I have personally dreamed of owning a Ferrari since I was 8 years old and have been lucky to be an owner for the past 5 years. I continue to be awed by the world-class design and engineering that only Ferrari can do.”
Cue has dual degrees in Economics and Computer Science from Duke University and has been with Apple for 23 years.
