Former Apple VP of Retail John Browett will soon be taking on a new executive position at Monsoon Accessorize

Remember John Browett? You know, Apple’s former Senior VP of Retail who was unceremoniously let go from his position after just a few months on the job? Well, he’s picked himself back up after recently taking an executive position at the UK-based retailer Monsoon Accessorize. Browett will assume his new role starting on March 4, about 5 months removed from when he – along with Scott Forstall – were shown the door.

In his new role as the chief executive, Browett will oversee more than 1,000 stores, The Financial Times reports (subscription required). That’s more than twice the size of Apple’s retail empire, which is currently at 400 stores.

In a statement Monsoon Accessorize founder Peter Simon said the company went through “an extensive search” to find a new CEO, leading up to the choice of Browett.
