According to the Financial Times, Google leaves Windows behind.
This may be old news to many readers, but apparently Google is dropping internal support for Windows, going so far as requiring that any new install requires CIO approval. Has anyone verified this? I’d like to know more about whether this story is entirely accurate, and, if so, the actual time-table for implementing this move.
Per the story, Google will support Linux and Macs for internal use, at least until Chrome OS is released. (On a side note, I’ve moved to Chrome from Firefox, and have never looked back. Chrome is extremely fast, and Firefox.. not so much.)
Speaking of Chrome OS, refer back to my blog about booting from the cloud.
Interesting times!
