Cisco offers free iPhone app to tune into WebEx meetings

Analysis
Jan 6, 20092 mins

Cisco is providing a free iPhone application that enables iPhone 3G users to attend WebEx meetings via their Apple mobile devices. Cisco says the Cisco WebEx Meeting Center application lets users view what’s being shared, see the meeting participant list, see the active speaker and chat with other meeting participants. Although the application is free to download from Apple’s AppStore, users need to have current subscriptions to the WebEx services to schedule or host a meeting, says Cisco.

Cisco also says a future version of the software will allow users to see meeting participants and the active speaker from Cisco Unified MeetingPlace.
