Can’t Decide What to Drink? There’s an App for That

Will future iPhones include a breathalyzer?

Hey – before you head out for the long holiday weekend, don’t forget to download the new Drinkspiration app for your iPhone. Provided by adult beverage innovator Absolut, it will help you decide what to drink based on “mood, time of day, weather, liquor type, drink color, shape of glass, type of venue, bar vibe, etc.”. It can also show in real time, via GPS and social media, what others are ordering around the world. And it includes recipes in case your bartender is a bit behind on his or her reading. You can see a video on this amazing product here.At least Apple can’t be accused of false advertising – no matter what, there is indeed, apparently, an app for that. I will be spending the weekend with my favorite drink, San Pellegrino, testing video performance on Ubuntu 9.04, cleaning out the gutters, and putting up new window shades. And, no matter what your favorite drink or home-maintenance activity, I wish you a pleasant holiday weekend as well.
