Mainstream SQL Server Support to Expire and Extended Support Could Cost You $50K

With the release of SQL Server 2008 around the corner, mainstream support for SQL Server 2000 will expire by April 8, 2008.  Therefore, start planning your upgrade or migration strategy, otherwise expect to pay up to 50K for an extended support contract on the legacy SQL Server 2000 product.
