Singapore Technologies Electronics (ST Electronics) has signed additional contracts worth about S$6.8m (US$4.5 million) to build a security system, IT infrastructure and car park management system at the Resorts World at Sentosa (RWS).

These bring the total contract value with RWS to S$92.8m. RWS is one of the two casino-based developments in Singapore. The government has also coined the properties as IRs (Integrated Resort). These are planned to be completed in 2009, and will be the first casinos in the country. The contracts were awarded through ST Electronics’ subsidiary, ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems).

These contracts add to the ones signed in December 2008 and will be delivered over the next 22 months. The contracts include centrally managed security system for real-time surveillance and monitoring of daily security operations, integrated network infrastructure for transmission of information and an intelligent car park system. The systems will be implemented for RWS’ attractions in the west zone of the resort, the Equarius Hotel, ESPA, Spa Villas, Marine Life Park and Equarius Water Park and the Maritime Xperiential Museum.

“The award of these additional contracts is a testimony to RWS’ confidence in ST Electronics’ solutions. We are delighted that our proven technologies, related services and expertise will be showcased in Singapore’s landmark IR project,” said Seah Moon Ming, president, ST Electronics.
