I think Palm OS fans with nimble thumbs will find the Centro more than attractive. The screen is bright and the device features snappy performance and all the business and personal features anyone could want.
Cool Yule rating: 4 stars
Price: $99.99 (with service)
Description: You’ve probably heard this is the smallest Palm OS-based phone ever. But that’s not necessarily a good thing, as the keyboard on the Centro may be simply too small for accurate text entry (depending upon the size of yours fingers, of course). But that’s a personal preference – Palm OS fans with nimble thumbs will find the Centro more than attractive. The screen is bright and the device features snappy performance and all the business and personal features anyone could want.
Features include a 320-by-320 pixel transflective color touch-screen, supporting 16-bit color (up to 65,000 colors), EV-DO network connectivity, Bluetooth wireless, 64MB of removable storage, a 1.3 megapixel digital camera with 2x digital zoom and video capture, a removable rechargeable battery (3.5 hours of talk time, up to 300 hours in standby), microSD card support (up to 4GB), and the Palm OS 5.4.9 operating system.
The Centro could give Palm OS, as well as Palm, the company, the boost both need. This one should be on the Yule gift list for any Palm fan, or anyone looking for a lot of function in a small package at a very reasonable price.
