Nokia is suing two Chinese companies for allegedly selling knock-offs of its 7260 model handsets, the Finnish phone maker said Wednesday.
The lawsuit, initiated in Beijing, alleges that the two companies – Shenzhen Telsda Mobile Communication Industry Development and Song Xun Da Zhong Ke Electronic (Shenzhen) – copied Nokia’s design for the model. Both companies are based in Shenzhen, China.
The world’s largest mobile phone maker is also going after two other companies accused of distributing the handsets, Beijing Tongwanbao Commerce & Trade Co. and Beijing Xin Tongwanbao Commerce & Trade Co. The two are named as codefendants in the case.
Nokia is seeking to stop the companies from manufacturing and selling the handsets, along with damages appropriate to such cases, it said.
The lawsuit was initiated on June 12.
