Qwest Communications announced Tuesday that it has completed its acquisition of OnFiber Communications.
The service providers first announced the planned $107 million all-cash deal in May. OnFiber is a privately held company based in Austin.
OnFiber primarily offers large businesses and government institutions Ethernet, SONET and wavelength fiber-optic services in 23 metropolitan areas across the U.S. Qwest offers similar optical services within its 14-state operating region.
When Qwest first announced the deal it said the addition of OnFiber would increase its out-of-region coverage and reduce its third-party access costs.
