* Juniper reports earnings
Juniper this week posted a 61% increase in second quarter revenue and a profit of $89 million.
Revenue was $493 million for the quarter. Earnings, on a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis, reversed a $12.6 million GAAP loss for the same period a year ago.
Non-GAAP net income, which excludes charges and other expenses, was $104.3 million, compared with non-GAAP net income of $42.7 million in the second quarter of 2004. Non-GAAP net income for the quarter exceeded analyst expectations by a penny a share, according to Thomson First Call.
“We had another strong quarter of growth,” said Juniper CEO Scott Kriens during a quarterly conference call. Kriens said requirements for traffic processing infrastructure drove the quarter.
Siemens was the largest contributor to Juniper’s revenue, responsible for more than 10% of sales for the three-month period.
