New Orleans-bound trade shows to relocate

A number of technology events that were scheduled to take place in New Orleans have either been canceled or rescheduled and relocated, following the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. Among the shows that have been rescheduled  include the HP Technology Conference, which was due to begin this week and will instead take place in Orlando from Oct. 17 through Oct.20. A list of some of the affected technology conferences is below.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is busy this week in Los Angeles at its Professional Developers Conference, where it is expected to debut Sparkle, its graphics and animation development tool targeted at Macromedia’s popular Flash product. And just last week, Microsoft was out wooing small and midsize businesses at the Microsoft Business Summit in Redmond, Wash.
