* LAN Research Center moved, domain name changed
I’m going to drift slightly off the topic of LANs this week because a fairly big deal is happening at Network World, and in the end I hope you’ll find it to be a net positive for you.
After nearly a decade as Network World Fusion, or nwfusion.com, we have joined the 21st century and moved our pages to networkworld.com. There’s nothing wrong with the name “Fusion” – it worked for us for a very long time. But many people still think of us as “Network World,” so the change just makes sense. You may remember we dropped “Fusion” from the title of these newsletters some time ago.
In fact, we owned the networkworld.com domain, but we kept our corporate information there (“Care to buy an ad?”). And folks kept going there and then following links to the nwfusion.com site. So, this ought to be easier to use.
Hand in hand with the name change comes a redesign, which in addition to making the pages prettier reorganizes the diverse information we offer. The idea is to make it easier to find what you need.
The main change from a LAN perspective is that the LANs and Routers/Switches research centers have been merged into the LANs/Routers Research Center. Sadly, I no longer edit a research center (I previously edited LANs), but the combined entity is in the good hands of Senior Editor Phil Hochmuth:
