Buffalo Technology announced a 300G-byte version of its LinkStation network-attached storage device. It includes two USB ports to attach external hard disks, and FTP and print server for file transfers. It lets administrators create user and group access to files and folders. Available next month, the LinkStation will cost $500.
Among the 20 new printers HP announced recently, three include built-in Ethernet, 802.11g and optional Bluetooth network connectivity. The HP Deskjet 6840 Color Injet Printer costs $200, the HP Photosmart 2700 All-in-One $400, and the HP Officejet 7410 All-in-One, $500.
BlackBall announced Version 3.0 of its file retrieval and management software, BlackMagic Personal, Workgroup and Server. BlackMagic recognizes files as they’re saved to the desktop or network, and lets users add personalized file descriptions. Features include content management and delivery, digital asset and storage management and a database. BlackMagic Personal costs $99; BlackMagic Workgroup, $599; BlackMagic Server, about $2,000 for a 10-user license.
