Intel has been notified that it may have to pay approximately $600 million in back taxes, plus interest, the company disclosed in a regulatory filing Wednesday.

Cingular and NextWave strike a deal
Cingular is set to buy 34 wireless licenses from NextWave for $1.4 billion. Cingular is the first provider to strike a deal with embattled NextWave, which lost its spectrum licenses after filing for bankruptcy. The FCC unlawfully repossessed the spectrum and was ordered to return the licenses to the troubled company in January.
