* The Cisco Certifications Community

Cisco this month officially launched a free resource to help your IT staffers do their jobs better – the Cisco Certifications Community. Exclusively for those who hold Cisco certifications, the portal is a place for users to network and share best practices with their peers.

Located at https://www.cisco.com/go/certcommunity, the Cisco Certifications Community is available to qualified individuals after they verify their certification status online. The site offers news, discussion groups, video presentations, white papers, articles and other content on network tools and learning. Here are some of the highlights:

* Three hours of free online training on security best practices.

* Technical information and profiles of successful individuals who hold Cisco’s top level certification, the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).

* Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) game to put your skills to the test.

“The new certification community portal allows networking professionals to share ideas and support their networking skills with people who have similar interests and different experiences,” says Tom Kelly, vice president of the Internet Learning Solutions Group at Cisco.

Some Cisco certification holders may already be familiar with the knowledge-sharing portal, as it has gained more than 20,000 subscribers since a pilot release five months ago. The online community is the place to go for information about updates to Cisco certification programs, recertification requirements and new courses and exams.
