Dozens of respondents to Microsoft’s Vista team blog are complaining that Windows Vista SP1 broke their computers, according to a report in ITnews. One user named Iggy33 wrote: “I downloaded it via Windows Update and got a blue screen on the third part of the update.” Another user, Bikkja, wrote: “after installing SP1 things seem to go really slow, even though my computer shouldn’t have any problems.”
Even Chris Jackson, a developer and application compatibility expert on the Windows Application Experience SWAT Team, had problems. In his blog posting headlined: Windows Vista SP1 Broke my Internet Explorer Compatibility Test Tool! he said he noticed the problem when he tried to launch IECTT. He has detailed a fix in his blog posting.
