Memorial Day weekend for Cisco professionals

Analysis
May 23, 20082 mins

Cisco Subnet hopes that you enjoy the holiday weekend, the unofficial start of summer! To that end, we bring you

some ideas for how Cisco professionals can spend some time this summer.

  • Visit the newly opened Sports Museum of America in New York. The museum uses a ton of Cisco technologies. For instance Cisco technologies power an exhibit called the Stadium of the Future, which showcases futuristic, interactive technologies for sports fans.
  • Visit the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA. Cisco’s Dave Rossetti serves on its board of trustees.
  • Attend a NASCAR race and then chat about it online. The social networking site is built using Cisco-owned technology (Five Across).
  • Sit in the garden and use your WiFi connection to peruse Norbelprize.org or play one its online games. (Cisco was a founding sponsor of the site.)

We also want to note some other ways to observe the spirit of the holiday. The site US Memorial Day.org suggests any of the following: Visit cemeteries or veterans memorials, fly the U.S. flag at half-staff until noon, participate in a “National Moment of Remembrance” of silence at 3 p.m., listen to Taps, renew or initiate a pledge to send aid to military widows, widowers, orphans and/or disabled veterans.
