A startup called BillShrink has an online tool for analyzing your calling patterns and matching them to the various consumer service plans AT&T Wireless is offering for the iPhone, which goes on sale this Friday. As you can see from the Web page, you select or enter data about your current plan, such as the number of Anytime minutes you use, your current monthly bill, number of text messages, and so on. The program then searches and ranks the best plans for your useage pattern. The results give you the plan name, plan details, how much more or less you’ll be paying yearly compared to your current plan, and lets you compared selected plans. If you enter your home and work zip codes, the tool will assess AT&T cellular coverage in both areas, and link to a detailed coverage map. And…it’s free. The company says that that most users overpay cell companies by at least $200 per year. The company gets paid by retail partners if you sign up for a given plan. CEO is Peter Pham, previously Vice President of Business Development at Photobucket.com, where he was employee number 5. The company was acquired in 2007 by Fox Interactive Media, a division of News Corp. BillShrink is backed by Bessemer Investment Partners.
